Puppy Raising Protocol.

As an approved American Kennel Club “Bred with H.E.A.R.T” breeder, we believe in giving our puppies the best possible start to life both physically and mentally! We are proud to use the “Avidog” Program to raise our puppies. A copy of the handbook can be found “here

Along with being fed a premium diet, mothers are supplemented with prenatal vitamins, Omega 3 fatty acids to promote trainability in the puppies, and probiotics to create stronger puppy immune systems.

When the puppies turn three days old until they turn 16 days old we preform Dr. Carmen Battaglia’s “Early Neurological Stimulation” on each of them. We also do “Early Scent Introduction” exercises during this time. Each day from day 3-16 the puppies smell something new and fun! Some of the benefits of these exercises include:

  1. Stronger heartbeats

  2. Improved Cardiovascular Performance

  3. Stronger adrenal glands

  4. Improved tolerance to stress

  5. Greater resistance to disease

As our puppies grow they are not only handed and cared for by our family daily, but our goal is for them to meet 100 other people during their 8 weeks stay with us. We also focus on building environmental confidence by changing the whelping area floor texture, adding in different noises / interactive toys, and introducing the puppies to other safe animals while they are with us. Our puppies are started on potty training before leaving us using the “litter box” method and they have been introduced to a crate. When they turn 6 weeks old they begin making small outings in their puppy stroller to see the world from a safe place. At 7 weeks old an outside trainer comes in and give each puppy a “Volhard Temperament Test” in a building they have never been inside of before. We use this data to make any changes needed for puppy placement. At this age they also receive their BAER hearing test, first vaccinations, microchips, and health certificates to prepare to go to their new families. Our puppies are proactively dewormed at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks. Each puppies goes home with a flea, tick, and heartworm preventive. All of our puppies are registered with the American Kennel Club and we of course send our puppies home with a welcome back to help them adjust to their new homes quickly!

Where are our puppies?

Our puppies can be found all across North America! We love keep up with what each of them are doing and where they are located!

We currently have puppies placed in working herding, pet, therapy, performance sport, search and rescue, and conformation homes across America and Canada.
